What You Will Do
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our construction team for our 175 3rd Street project in Gowanus, Brooklyn. The project is a new construction building comprised of 1.2 million square feet, approximately 1,100 rental units, amenities, retail spaces and a waterfront park. This role requires a strong presence both in the office and in the field, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Assist with day-to-day project management activities from pre-construction through close-out
- Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and vendors
- Track RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and meeting minutes
- Support preparation of project schedules and work plans
Procurement, Budget, & Cost Control
- Assist with budget tracking, job cost reports, and subcontracts
- Review subcontractor invoices and requisitions
- Support change order documentation and tracking
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain organized project files and logs in project management software
- Assist with permit tracking, inspections, and DOB documentation
- Ensure compliance with NYC construction regulations and safety requirements
Meetings & Communication
- Attend project meetings and assist with follow-up action items
- Communicate project updates internally and externally as directed
- Support client and consultant communications
Close-out
- Assist with punch list tracking and close-out documentation
- Help compile as-built drawings, warranties, and O&M manuals
Who Are You
- 1–3 years of construction or related industry experience (internships included)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred)
- Exposure to NYC construction projects a plus
- Proficiency with project management software (Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
