What You Will Do

As a Property Manager at Charney, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of luxury, Class A residential assets in Brooklyn. Depending on your experience and organizational needs, your scope may include a single property, a portfolio of buildings, or a full residential community. You will bring operational rigor and a hospitality-driven mindset to one of New York’s most distinctive residential platforms – and grow your responsibilities alongside ours. The position is well-suited for both emerging property management professionals and experienced managers seeking to work within a best-in-class residential platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of luxury residential properties, including maintenance coordination, vendor management, and building systems.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for residents, delivering a professional, hospitality-driven experience focused on resident retention. 
  • Manage service requests, communications, and issue resolution with a high level of responsiveness.
  • Coordinate move-ins, move-outs, unit turnovers, and post-construction or warranty-related items. 
  • Administer lease administration, policies, and procedures while ensuring compliance with NYC housing regulations, NYC Local Laws, and fair housing requirements.
  • Prepare and support operating budgets; track expenses and review financial reporting.
  • Coordinate inspections, preventive maintenance programs, and life-safety compliance requirements.
  • Supervise on-site staff and third-party vendors based on scope of responsibility.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation using property management systems.
  • Collaborate with asset management, leasing, and construction teams to support operational and resident experience and resident retention goals.

Who Are You

  • You bring 3+ years of residential property management experience; luxury, Class A, or new construction exposure is preferred. 
  • You have a strong understanding of building operations and resident services in an urban environment. 
  • You’re comfortable working with vendors, service providers, and operating budgets. 
  • You have experience with property management software (Yardi, AppFolio, BuildingLink, Venn, SiteCompli, or similar). 
  • You communicate clearly, stay organized under pressure, and solve problems before they escalate. 
  • You can operate independently and scale your responsibilities as needs evolve.

Compensation

Base salary: $70,000–$95,000
